Creating a workspace

Choose Local or Git, switch workspaces, and understand equal providers.

Workspace providers

Local, Git, and Cloud are equal peers. Local is always available and does not require Git. Git is Available only when a supported system Git installation is detected. Cloud remains Planned.

Choose Provider

From New Workspace…, pick a provider. If Git is unavailable, the chooser shows Unavailable — System Git is required with Open Git Diagnostics, Installation Help, and Check Again. Crucible does not install or bundle Git.

Create

Local: name the workspace and create. Git: Create New, Open Existing, or Clone. Publish as Git… copies a Local workspace into a new Git workspace (standalone directory or .crucible/workspace/ inside an existing app repository). Local remains unchanged — there is no automatic sync.

Manage

Use Workspace Settings to rename, export a native JSON backup, or delete/remove a workspace after reviewing impact. Provider identity is not edited in place.
